Kariba Dam Rehabilitation Project

HUGGENBERGER has been awarded the Contract for the additional monitoring instruments at Kariba Dam rehabilitation project.

Kariba Dam is located on the Zambezi River, at the boarder of Zambia and Zimbabwe. The dam has been built between 1956 and 1959 and it creates one of the largest artificial lakes in the world.
The plunging pool is currently being enlarged and re-shaped. An additional monitoring system has to be implemented, in order to better control the dam behaviour during the excavations and dewatering activities.

Our task includes the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of a large number of Telelot, along with automatic datalogging system for existing piezometers. It is in the scope of work also the automation of uplift pressure measurements in the dam galleries.

While this contract confirms its leadership in the field of dam monitoring system, HUGGENBERGER and the whole SISGEO SRL Group are proudly partnering ZAMBEZI RIVER AUTHORITY and STUCKY in such a prestigious project.
We also want to thank ZAMBEZI RIVER AUTHORITY for the trust given.
